Legal Aid to offer document preparation for eligible family clients

Legal Aid Ontario (LAO) will now be providing eligible family law clients with document preparation for motions to change custody, access and child support.

LAO’s summary legal advice lawyers who are assisting clients will also assess their eligibility for document preparation. If clients qualify, they will be referred to a legal aid lawyer for this service by phone or video call.

To reach a summary legal advice lawyer, clients can call 1-800-668-8258 from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

As the Ontario Court of Justice moves towards hearing motions to change remotely, this new service responds to evolving client needs, and is part of LAO’s expanded duty counsel services and COVID‑19 response offering clients more resources by phone and online.
