What happens after Legal Aid Ontario receives my lawyer’s request for an extension?

You must continue to be financially eligible for legal aid, and may be required to complete a financial reassessment if there is a change to your financial circumstances.

• If the extension request is approved, a notice with the new termination date will be sent to you and your lawyer.
• If the extension request is refused, a notice including the reasons for the decision will be sent to you and your lawyer.
