How do I request a review of my cancelled or terminated certificate?
You can send your request for review and any documents to the address or fax number listed on your notice of cancellation/termination or send it through the Client Portal.
Requests for review usually must be in writing, but LAO staff may take verbal reasons for your request for review if you give us a call.
A request for review should include any new or additional information that you did not provide at the time you applied for legal aid. Your review request should also include:
- Your name
- Your client number
- Your current mailing address and telephone number; email if applicable
- Relevant information and the reason why you are requesting a review
- Any upcoming court dates.
Please make your request for review within 22 business days from the date of your notice of cancellation. If you are in jail or hospitalized, you must file your request for review within 52 business days from the date of your notice of cancellation.
A decision on your file can take up to 30 to 45 business days on your review.
