I have applied for legal aid before but I cannot locate my client number. Should I just answer “no” so I can complete my application?

It is very important that you continue to use your original client number. Be sure to check any documents you have previously received from legal aid, as your client number is noted on them. Your client number starts with CLT. If you still cannot find your client number, call the contact centre, Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 1‑800‑668‑8258 (or 416‑979‑1446 if in Toronto) and one of our contact centre agents will help in recovering your ID. This will allow you to finish the application online. If you prefer, a contact centre agent can also help complete the application during the phone conversation.

If you are looking for your certificate number, you can locate it on the “Active Cases” page of the client portal, or by calling the contact centre, Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 18006688258 (or 4169791446 if in Toronto).

Questions

Can I create my own password or will one be given to me?

I was completing my application and was told to call Legal Aid Ontario to finish the application. Will I have to repeat all of the same questions?
