Administrative Coordinator, Legal Clinic Programs
The Lincoln Alexander School of Law at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly known as Ryerson University) is a different kind of law school designed to create a different kind of lawyer. We seek to become a model for legal education that drives the legal profession to become more equitable, accessible, and technologically advanced.
We are seeking an Administrative Coordinator to join the Lincoln Alexander School of Law’s student legal clinic and provide the team with a wide range of administrative support, including the development, implementation, and maintenance of internal office practices and procedures to facilitate day-to-day operations. The Administrative Coordinator would work in a team environment, ensuring the smooth operation of all day-to-day administrative and financial matters, staffing the reception area, providing direct administrative assistance to legal clinic staff and students, and working in support of the strategic vision of the legal clinic. They would provide administrative support for various office initiatives, including client work, project work, legal education, and other legal clinic initiatives.
This is a unique and rare opportunity to be part of the early stages of building a student legal clinic program, within a law school that is deeply committed to equity.
Key Qualifications
- A certificate program in a related area such as business administration, law, or social sciences
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience providing administrative support, preferably working in a legal setting such as a legal clinic or a social justice related legal workplace
- Strong administrative and financial administration skills
- While not required, a strong asset would be an understanding of legal and socioeconomic issues and barriers that equity-seeking communities in Toronto and Ontario face, and commitment to equitable outcomes and social justice in relation to same
