Congratulations to Legal Aid Ontario staff appointed to the Ontario Court of Justice

Legal Aid Ontario (LAO) is extremely proud of the four staff lawyers appointed as justices of the peace, and the work they have done within this organization.

Case manager and staff lawyer Mark Donohue previously led development of LAO’s first legal information website, and worked as criminal duty counsel. Justice of the Peace Mark Willison Donohue has been assigned to Peterborough.
Justice of the Peace Tove Lena Finnestad will serve Newmarket. Tove has spent most of her legal career as criminal duty counsel at College Park Courthouse in Toronto. She also teaches English as a second language to recent immigrants.
Senior criminal duty counsel in Sudbury-Manitoulin since 2002, André Guitard has been involved with several significant improvements to the Bail Court process in LAO’s northeast district. Justice J. André Guitard has been assigned to Sault Ste. Marie.
An LAO staff member since 2004-first as duty counsel and then as deputy supervisor-Justice of the Peace Natalia Krayzman will be serving Brampton. Natalie also volunteers with an organization focused on helping those who have been in conflict with the law achieve higher education.
These appointments are effective July 11, 2017.
