Community Legal Clinic of York Region to open satellite office in Vaughan

The Community Legal Clinic of York Region (CLCYR) and the Vaughan Community Health Centre (VCHC) have opened a new office to provide legal aid services to low-income Ontarians in the Vaughan area. This new satellite office, co-located with the Vaughan Community Health Centre, offers legal consultation to visitors and patients of the VCHC every Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m..

About Community Legal Clinic of York Region

Community Legal Clinic of York Region (CLCYR) does not charge for its services. We are primarily funded through Legal Aid Ontario to assist some of the most marginalized and vulnerable citizens in York Region. CLCYR provides summary advice regarding social assistance programs such as Ontario Works, Ontario Disability Support Program, housing, criminal injuries compensation, as well as federal benefits such as Employment Insurance, Old Age Security and the Canada Pension Plan. The team of lawyers and paralegals also provide legal representation before the Social Benefits Tribunal, Landlord Tenant Board, Criminal Injuries Compensation Board and the Social Security Tribunal.

About Vaughan Community Health Centre

The Vaughan Community Health Centre is a not-for-profit, community-governed organization that provides clinical and social services with a primary focus on residents of the City of Vaughan. Specifically, we serve those who are facing barriers accessing health care. Our main focus is youth, seniors and people with mental health and addiction issues. Our services are provided in different languages within a safe, accessible and comfortable environment. They are expanded through collaborations with community-based health and social service organizations.
