Data set: Number of people assisted by duty counsel
Duty counsel are LAO staff and per diem lawyers in courthouses. They can give immediate legal assistance to low-income people who would otherwise be unrepresented and unassisted.
Data collected in the set are for the people assisted by duty counsel per quarter. Results are divided into the areas of criminal law and civil law. The latter consists largely of people assisted in family law courts.
