About the Position
The Housing Support Worker performs within a team environment to provide advocacy and support to at-risk &/or exploited youth under the age of 24. This position reports to the Project Coordinator providing input to and consulting with the Windsor Essex Counter Exploitation Network (WECEN) Advisory Committee.
Reports to the Coordinator of Social Work Services and consults on an ongoing basis with the Coordinating Committee. Provides housing supports based on the capacities/needs of survivors. Ability to assess strengths/needs, understand the housing system and advocate for adequate and affordable housing regardless of where the survivor enters the housing continuum.
Provides assessment, counselling, case management, crisis intervention, advocacy and referral regarding emergency and long term housing. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in social work or related program a recognized university. Previous experience in working with victims of crime and/or newcomers to Canada. Strong administrative, presentation, clinical and advocacy skills are essential.
Job Benefits
- Annual salary between $48,000 and $52,300, commensurate with experience.
- Vacation entitlements start at 3 weeks per year and increase with seniority.
