Human Rights Legal Support Centre (HRCLS)
The Human Rights Legal Support Centre (HRLSC) provides a broad range of free legal assistance to individuals throughout Ontario who have experienced discrimination contrary to Ontario’s Human Rights Code. The HRLSC is seeking applications for a designated Indigenous Services Legal Counsel position to provide legal services and representation to HRLSC clients including at mediations and hearings before the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario (HRTO). Qualifications include human rights expertise, the ability to litigate before administrative tribunals, and knowledge and familiarity with legal issues, including discrimination, facing Indigenous people in Ontario. The successful applicant will be part of a designated team providing legal services and representation to Indigenous and non-Indigenous people who contact the HRLSC for legal assistance. Some travel may be required.
This is a full-time, permanent position. This position offers a fully remote work schedule. There is also potential for a second, but temporary, opportunity to become available. Salary for this position is $74,400+.
The HRLSC welcomes candidates to voluntarily self-identify as Indigenous on their application. The position is posted as a designated hire, where only Indigenous applicants will be considered.
