Articling Student

The University of Ottawa Community Legal Clinic has a dual mandate: to provide legal services to members of the community and to students, and to provide legal education to law students enrolled in the Common Law Section of the Faculty of Law.

Under the direct supervision of a lawyer, the articling student will represent clients in the following areas of law:

  • family law
  • housing law
  • criminal law

The articling student will also provide summary legal advice in the Clinic’s areas of practice, and will occasionally participate in community development activities, including providing public legal information sessions.

The articling position is for a term of 10 months. The successful candidate will be working in-person at the Clinic for the length of the term. The articling student’s wages would be based on an annual salary of $45 000 per year.

A strong knowledge and understanding of French, both oral and written, is an asset.

Clinique juridique communautaire de l’université d’Ottawa

Stagiaire en droit – Cléricature (2024-2025)

Le mandat de la Clinique juridique communautaire de l’Université d’Ottawa consiste d’une part à fournir des services juridiques aux membres de la communauté et aux étudiants.es, et de l’autre, à offrir de la formation juridique aux étudiants.es inscrits.es au programme de common law de la Faculté de droit.

Sous la supervision d’un.e juriste, le/la candidat.e choisi.e représentera la clientèle dans les domaines de droit suivants:

  • droit de la famille
  • le droit du logement
  • le droit criminel

Le/la stagiaire en droit devra aussi donner des avis juridiques sommaires dans les domaines de pratique de la Clinique et participera occasionnellement à des activités de développement communautaire notamment en donnant des séances d’information juridique.

Le poste de stagiaire en droit est d’une période de 10 mois et le travail du/de la stagiaire se fera en personne à la Clinique pour la durée du poste. Le salaire du/de la stagiaire serait basé sur un salaire annuel de 45 000 $ par an.

Une grande maîtrise du français (expression orale et écrite) est un atout.
