Articling Student (2023-2024)
University of Ottawa Community Legal Clinic
The University of Ottawa Community Legal Clinic has a dual mandate: to provide legal services to members of the community and to students, and to provide legal education to law students enrolled in the Common Law Section of the Faculty of Law.
Under the direct supervision of a lawyer, the articling student will represent clients in the following areas of law:
- family law
- housing law
- criminal law
The articling student will also provide summary legal advice in the Clinic’s areas of practice, and will occasionally participate in community development activities, including providing public legal information sessions.
The articling position is for a term of 10 months. The successful candidate will be working in-person at the Clinic for the length of the term.
A strong knowledge and understanding of French, both oral and written, is an asset.
