Legal Assistance of Windsor (LAW) is seeking a permanent, full-time Youth in Transition Worker, with a start date on or after June 24, 2024.

LAW is an interdisciplinary clinic combining legal and social work professions to meet the multi-faceted needs of the low-income community in Windsor and Essex County. About the Position
The YITW works within a team environment to provide advocacy and support to at-risk &/or exploited youth under the age of 24. The YITW reports to the Project Coordinator providing input to and consulting with the Windsor Essex Counter Exploitation Network (WECEN) Advisory Committee. The YITW is responsible for conducting intakes, providing input on assessments and developing intervention plans in conjunction with social work staff, youth and community supports as appropriate. Crisis intervention, advocacy and knowledge of community resources required. Significant outreach and public education duties.
Minimum Requirements
- A Child and Youth Worker or Social Services Diploma with a minimum of two (3) years experience working with high needs/vulnerable youth and two (3) years of direct experience working in a Social Service Agency and/or equivalent
- An awareness of trauma-informed practice and an understanding of the principles of intersectionality and anti-oppression.
Job Benefits
- Annual salary between $45,000 and $50,000, commensurate with experience.
- Vacation entitlements start at 3 weeks per year and increase with seniority.
