Deferral requests

Effective June 8, 2015, LAO is issuing 10‑hour certificates for requests to the Canadian Border Service Agency to defer removal, in circumstances where:

• there is evidence of a risk to a Section 7 Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms interest that has not been assessed
• removal would be contrary to the best interests of a child
• removal would cause significant hardship due to separation of dependent family members, or
• there is an outstanding meritorious H&C application.
