COVID-19: Temporary waiver of financial eligibility requirements set to end for non-Indigenous applicants with domestic violence or child protection matters
Published: January 27, 2022
Starting Jan. 31, 2022, Legal Aid Ontario (LAO) will be resuming pre-pandemic financial certificate eligibility criteria for non-Indigenous people experiencing domestic violence and non-Indigenous families with child protection matters.
The waiver of financial eligibility requirements will continue for Indigenous people experiencing domestic violence or facing a child protection issue, who will still be automatically eligible for family law and child protection certificates.
For anyone impacted by domestic violence, LAO continues to offer two hours of free legal advice (no financial eligibility required).
