Primary function
We are looking for someone who is passionate about technology and is looking to share their excitement and expertise with peers and colleagues across the organization. We would love to hear from you if you are into:
• creating high-quality training materials in a variety of formats (videos, cheat sheets, guidelines, e-learning modules, etc.),
• helping business partners to solve real business challenges,
• following the latest technological developments (including AI tools) and,
• working as part of a collaborative team.
The focus of your work will span the entirety of M365 applications, as well as other core LAO IT applications (e.g. Service Now). Whether it is supporting collaboration efforts using M365 applications or identifying opportunities to automate and improve existing business processes using custom solutions within Power Platform, you will be a key partner to LAO’s business users.
In this role, you will work as part of the Digital Strategy & IT Transformation team. You will play a key role in the team’s development efforts to help LAO adopt new technologies.

Key accountabilities
As an IT Systems Trainer and Advisor you will:
• Provide technical assistance to business users about M365 functionality (i.e. Office online, Teams, SharePoint Online) to maximize the value derived from these applications increasing collaboration and efficiency throughout the organization
• Create and maintain training documentation, job aids and guidance materials in a variety of formats (e.g. video, written, visualizations)
• Deliver formal and informal training to LAO staff on how to get the most out of LAO’s IT applications
• Assess organizational training needs with respect to adoption of technology
• Create comprehensive training plans
• Conduct post-training evaluations to demonstrate the impact of training delivery
• Bring your expertise to multi-disciplinary project teams
• Meet with business stakeholders to understand their internal processes and identify opportunities to improve their efficiency by using M365 or other IT applications
• Support the team’s development efforts by reviewing applications and providing feedback
• Stay up to date on the latest technology product releases through a combination of research and training
• Use your knowledge to identify how new features (including AI-powered tools) could be leveraged by LAO
• Apply your knowledge of industry best practices when designing, developing and documenting training materials
Required skills & experience
• College degree that is focused on training, education or content presentation, or prior work experience that is relevant to a trainer role
• You have 2+ years of experience in creating training materials and delivering training sessions in a technical subject area
• You have extensive knowledge of and experience working with the full range of M365 applications
• You have experience developing training documentation, creating presentations and video training materials
• You have knowledge of the M365 platform, its functionality, and the ability to identify how this functionality can be used to improve business processes
• You have a solid understanding of M365 Power Platform applications and how they can be used to meet specific business needs
• You are comfortable working with a variety of digital tools and platforms and are able to easily familiarize yourself with any new systems
• You are familiar with the solution development lifecycle from requirements gathering to go-live
• You have keen attention to detail and are proactive to flag potential bugs and errors
• You possess strong analytical thinking skills
• You are a strong communicator who is able to cater your technical communications to a wide variety of audiences in a number of different formats and styles
• You are excited about technology and actively monitor new technological developments (e.g. tracking the evolution of AI)
• Knowledge and experience with writing code (any language), scripting, and/or querying languages will be considered an asset

• You have experience leading in-person or online meetings and presenting technical information to large audiences
