Mailing alternatives during Canada Post service disruption
Published: September 26, 2025
The ongoing Canada Post labour disruption is impacting Legal Aid Ontario’s ability to send and receive mail.
We will continue to process mail as we receive it, and we will resume sending physical mail once the service disruption is resolved. In the interim, we can still process documents using other methods, including in-person or courier services where appropriate.
If you have not yet already, we strongly recommend that you sign up for our online client portal to easily access your documents.
If you are seeking legal help, please consider the following mailing alternatives:
-
Log into or sign up for the Client Portal to send and receive your documents electronically using the My Documents tab.
-
Call us at 1-800-668-8258 to discuss in-person document pick-up and drop off options at an office near you.
-
Speak with your legal aid lawyer to find out if they may be able to receive or send your documents on your behalf.
For more information about your documents, please log into the Client Portal and select the My Documents tab. Alternatively, you may call our contact centre at 1-800-668-8258, open from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (ET).
If you are a lawyer for Legal Aid Ontario, please read our in brief post for mail alternatives.
