Legal Aid Ontario’s Service Finder tool is now available!
Published: June 16, 2025
We are pleased to announce the launch of Service Finder, a self-triage tool available on the Legal Aid Ontario (LAO) website. Service Finder allows you to quickly and easily find legal services, locate nearby offices and access legal information and resources for your legal matter.
You can use Service Finder to:
- assess your legal and financial eligibility for service
- apply for legal aid
- get referrals to external service providers if you do not qualify for legal aid
- choose an area of law you need help with
- locate LAO services and offices, including family law service centres, refugee law offices, specialty clinics, and student legal services organizations
Service Finder is user friendly, can be accessed across your devices without a user account and login credentials, and is available 24/7, so you can find the information you need at your convenience.
The tool uses Google Maps services to guide you to your nearest service provider location (physical or virtual) to get help on your specific legal issue, and to plan your route to the service provider in real time. (Service Finder only provides information and will not collect any of your personal information.)
