Don Valley Community Legal Services (DVCLS)

Don Valley Community Legal Services (DVCLS) is a community legal clinic funded by Legal Aid Ontario seeking a Community Development Worker.

We have an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about and committed to social justice with proven experience in community development, engagement and outreach, communications, public legal education, stakeholder consultations and advocacy work.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing robust community development / outreach plans that advance the strategic goals and vision of the Clinic and requires strong organizational and communications skills. DVCLS provides free quality legal services to low-income residents in one of the City of Toronto’s largest and most culturally diverse community, an area bordered by Don Valley/Yonge Street to the west, Victoria Park to the east, Lake Ontario to the south and York Mills/Hwy 401 to the north.

The Clinic is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. We are committed to responding to the legal needs of our community in innovative ways through a client-centered, trauma-informed and equity, diversity and inclusion lens.

  • SALARY: $65,000 – $80,000, commensurate with relevant experience (salary is currently under review)
