Timmins‐Temiskaming Community Legal Clinic
Permanent Full‐Time Position
The Timmins‐Temiskaming Community Legal Clinic (“TTCLC”) is currently seeking a Community Legal Worker to join our team.
The TTCLC is a community legal clinic funded by Legal Aid Ontario. We provide legal advice and representation to low-income residents of the Timmins and Temiskaming areas, primarily in areas of housing and income maintenance like the Ontario Disability Program or Ontario Works.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience as a community legal worker with a legal clinic and/or membership in good standing of the LSUC as a licensed paralegal.
- Commitment to social justice issues and to the delivery of high quality legal services to disadvantaged individuals and groups.
- Knowledge and experience with Residential Tenancies, Ontario Disability Support Program, Ontario Works and CPP matters.
- Demonstrated effective advocacy and communication skills.
- Strong legal skills, including research and analytical skills, negotiations and public speaking.
- Ability to work effectively autonomously and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management skills and a strong ability to handle multiple priorities in a high volume environment.
- Capacity to deliver services in French an asset.
The candidate’s salary will be commensurate with the level of experience, starting at $68,500 annually.
