Electronic certificate documents soon available through Legal Aid Online
Posted on: Thursday, October 13, 2011
In the coming months, lawyers who accept legal aid certificates will be able to view and print their completed certificate documents through Legal Aid Ontario’s (LAO) secure billing website, Legal Aid Online, instead of waiting to receive the documents by mail.
Certificate documents such as amendment and authorization refusals, cancellations and notice of reactivations will be available online, allowing faster access to the documents. Lawyers can easily review any comments regarding certificate decisions online, or download and print their certificate documents for offline archiving. Lawyers who have subscribed to email or SMS notifications will receive a message once the documents are available.
Along with the criminal matter request forms introduced in September, electronic certificate documents are one of several paperless initiatives that LAO is undertaking to enhance its online billing website.
