Participate in LAO's open government web consultation

Tuesday, November 15, 2016

Legal Aid Ontario (LAO) invites you to give feedback on how to make LAOs work more transparent, and its data more publicly accessible. Earlier this year, LAO released a discussion paper: Open Government at Legal Aid Ontario: Promoting Transparency and Accountability in Ontarios Justice System. Now, LAO wants to hear from you.

The feedback collected during the consultation process will directly contribute to the development of a multi-year plan to increase transparency, accountability, and participation in Ontarios legal aid system.

About open government at LAO

The government of Ontario has identified open government as a key, government-wide, initiative. The three key principles of this initiative include:

  • Open data: All data needs to be available in a free, accessible, machine readable format

  • Open information: All information about the operation of government needs to be available to improve transparency and accountability

  • Open dialogue: Using new methods to engage the public in planning and decision-making

How to participate

To participate, fill out the web survey, email opengovernment@lao.on.ca with your comments, or visit LAOs open government page. Consultations will run until December 12, 2016. LAO will release a report with the results of the feedback in Spring 2017.
