Posted on: Wednesday, May 30, 2012
Legal Aid Ontario is pleased to announce the opening of a new Family Law Information Centre (FLIC) on Six Nations of the Grand River reserve.
Starting on May 29th, the new centre is offering information and legal advice, duty counsel services and limited certificate services to eligible clients.
Alison Macdonald, LAO staff lawyer and Six Nations band member, helps to staff the centre. She explains its benefits: “Establishing a culturally sensitive family law centre staffed by a community band member will improve access to important services provided by LAO.”
The new Family Law Information Centre will operate on Tuesdays from 9:00a.m. to 1:00p.m. at the G.R.E.A.T. building in Ohsweken, Ontario.
