Canada Post strike action plan: Payment deposit notices now available through Legal Aid Online
Posted on: Monday, June 6, 2011
Lawyers will receive their deposit advice notices via Legal Aid Online. The new feature, available on your Legal Aid Online home page starting Friday, June 10, 2011, allows you to access your deposit advice notices for Electronic Fund Transfers (EFTs) online. This new option ensures that you will receive deposit notices during the Canada Post strike. It also increases timely access to information, and reduces LAO printing and mailing costs.
Lawyers with vendor IDs and passwords can retrieve their deposit advice notices by clicking on the “Communications” link on their home page. You can download and save these notices, and/or forward them to your administrative assistant or bookkeeper.
Over the next few months, we will improve the functionality of this new service, for example, by sending email notifications when you receive a deposit advice notice. Note that even after the Canada Post strike is resolved, LAO will continue to make desposit advice notices available electronically; hard copy deposit advice notices will no longer be mailed.
