New information service provides clients with after-hours assistance

Legal Aid Ontario has added a new service to its toll-free assistance line that will help low-income Ontarians get the help they need even after business hours.

The new feature a recorded information service has been implemented so clients still have access to information on legal aid services after the office has closed for the day. The automated service provides information about eligibility requirements, legal aid certificates, duty counsel, summary legal advice and referrals to other resources that clients might find helpful. The service is available in English and French, starting at 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, throughout weekends and on holidays.

Call 1-800-668-8258 toll-free (or 416-979-1446 in Toronto) to get legal aid help in over 120 languages.
