Legal Aid Ontario Service Disruptions

Between December 24, 2010 and January 3, 2011, the following courthouses and Legal Aid Ontario offices will either be closed, or operating on a reduced schedule due to the holiday season:
Central, Northeast and Northwest Ontario
Brockville – LAO courthouse location closed December 24
Cornwall – LAO courthouse location closed December 24, 29, 30, 31
Hawkesbury – LAO courthouse location closed December 30
Kirkland Lake – district office closed December 3, 2010 to January 3, 2011
North Bay – district office closed December 3, 2010 to January 3, 2011.
Pembroke – LAO courthouse location closed December 29, 30, 31
Peterborough – district office closed December 24
Southern Ontario
Chatham – LAO courthouse office closed December 29, 30, 31
Goderich – legal aid office closed December 30
London – district office closing at 11:45 a.m., December 24, and at 1:30 p.m. on December 31
St. Thomas – Please note: the legal aid office at 79 Stanley Street is closed as of December 20. Starting January 4, 2011, clients can access LAO courthouse staff services in person at the Superior Court of Justice Interim Court Facility at 1 Silver Street.
Stratford – LAO courthouse office closed December 29
Woodstock – LAO courthouse office closed December 29
Windsor – LAO courthouse office hours are reduced as follows:
- December 29, 2010 – 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- December 30, 2010 – 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- December 31, 2010 – 8:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
Please note these holiday service disruptions will not affect Legal Aid Ontario’s toll-free call centre at 1-800-668-8258 (416 -979-1446 from within the GTA). Services are available Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in over 120 languages.
