Legal aid services at 47 Sheppard Ave. courthouse

Posted on: Thursday, June 24, 2010

Clients with family law matters are advised that the family courts at the North York courthouse at 47 Sheppard Ave will be operating as usual on Thursday, June 24, 2010 and Friday, June 25, 2010. Staff duty counsel and per diem duty counsel are scheduled to attend both today and tomorrow, and will be available to assist clients.

There is a potential for service disruption due to the delivery of a court decision on the use of water cannons on protestors.

The North York Family Law Service Centre is also available to take emergency family law applications, but only from those referred by duty counsel at 47 Sheppard Court, on Thursday, June 24, 2010. This office will be closed Friday, June 25, 2010, and clients needing assistance with a legal aid application should contact Legal Aid Ontario toll-free at 1-800-668-8258.

Please note that the official opening of the North York Family Law Service Centre will take place on July 5, 2010.
