The next step: The financial eligibility test The next step in applying for legal aid is to determine if you are financially eligible. You can refer to Am I eligible? for more information or take a quick and simple financial test right now to see if you may qualify. The financial advice calculator will give you a general idea of your eligibility for legal aid. When you have completed the test, you will receive a summary sheet you can take to your local legal aid area office to assist you with the application process. Please note that getting a positive answer from the calculator does not guarantee that you will receive legal aid. This is just a tool to determine if it is possible. The final decision will be reached by the Legal Aid Ontario application assessment officer.
