Staff Lawyer
The Community Legal Clinic – Simcoe, Haliburton, Kawartha Lakes is seeking a lawyer. Founded in 1981, the Clinic is funded by Legal Aid Ontario and receives additional support from external funders. It is a busy Clinic with a focus on poverty law, particularly social assistance, landlord and tenant, WSIB and employment law as well as strategic litigation. It is engaged in extensive community outreach programs and prides itself on its innovative approach to the delivery of services. The Clinic has eleven full time staff and over twenty volunteers.
Qualifications:
- Member in good standing with Law Society of Upper Canada
- Excellent advocacy and legal skills
- Commitment to providing high quality legal advice and representation
- Legal clinic experience an asset
- Valid driver’s license
