Human Rights Representative / Advisor
Ontario Human Rights Legal Support Centre
The Human Rights Legal Support Centre (HRLSC) provides a broad range of legal services, including representation, to human rights claimants applying to the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario (HRTO). The Centre is seeking applications for a Human Rights Representative / Advisor position. The successful candidate will have human rights expertise and experience with drafting and filing HRTO applications. The person filling this position will provide legal information and advice over the telephone to individuals who have experienced discrimination, will conduct client interviews, and may be required to provide legal representation at HRTO mediations. Qualifications include an understanding of anti-Black racism and discrimination issues affecting Ontario’s Black communities.
This is a full-time, one-year contract position funded by Legal Aid Ontario (LAO), and is part of the OPSEU Bargaining Unit. This position will be located in Toronto. The salary range for this position starts at $53,828. General hours of work for this position are 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
