Sudbury Community Legal Clinic

Sudbury Community Legal Clinic is seeking an experienced staff lawyer. Are you committed to social justice and working with a dynamic group of Northern Community Legal Clinics?

This position will be based in our clinic but will work with Advocacy North, a collaborative effort of all 11 Northern Community Legal Clinics, in the area of Elder and Seniors Law. There is a large component of community development and public legal education as we are expanding into this area of law across Northern Ontario. The areas of law include powers of attorney, consent and capacity issues, retirement home tenancies, long-term care facilities and health care law.

The successful applicant must be a member in good standing with the Law Society of Upper Canada as well as own a vehicle and be able to travel (by airplane, train or car) throughout Northern Ontario.

This position requires you to possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as superior advocacy and writing ability. Ability to write and communicate in French is an asset.
